In my opinion the South Pacific Region is really what Costa Rica is all about. From mountains to beaches, from amazing plant life to beautiful wild life, the Southern Region has it all. South has long been a Mecca for fishing, nature lovers, surfers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Domincal is a surfer’s paradise; its miles of beaches and laid back atmosphere make a wonderful place to unwind. Although the town is not what a person would call a booming resort area, the accommodations are great and the people are even better. The new Costanera Highway makes getting there even easier. There are also daily regional flights from San Jose. Also located minutes away is the amazing Ballena National Park and the famous “Whales Tail” a natural sand formation in the shape of, well you guessed it, a whales tail. This area also boasts some great dinning spots.
The town of Sierpe is your gateway to Drakes Bay, and an amazing mangrove forest. Also if you are into fishing Sierpe is the place for you. Also do not forget to check out Drakes Bay named after the famous pirate Sir Francis Drake who explored the area in 1597.
